Philosophy/Mission Statement
Our philosophy at the Maupin Funeral Home has changed little over the last eighty years. We are dedicated to ensuring that the residents of our community and surrounding areas have a funeral home which will treat their loved ones with respect and dignity; that the deceased will have the very best in technical care, and that the survivors will be treated with the compassion and respect that they not only deserve, but are entitled to.
Our mission statement is this; we will constantly strive to maintain the level of professionalism that we have achieved in our eighty years of service to the community. We have never and will never turn anyone away during their time of need. Our care is evident in our services, from the first phone call, notifying us of a death, through our commitment to stay in touch with the family and their continuing needs long after the funeral service has taken place.
History
The Maupin Funeral Home was established in Auxvasse, Missouri in 1919 by Hughes Maupin and his son Glen Y. Maupin. The business grew out of a furniture store in Auxvasse. Soon Hughes and Glen moved to Mokane, Missouri in the 1930’s and started a Maupin Funeral Home there. He moved back to Fulton, Missouri in the 1940’s and together with his two sons, Gene C. “Jeep” Maupin and Tom Maupin established the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton.
We still maintain a Funeral Chapel in Auxvasse as well as our modern facility in Fulton. Though Hughes, Glen and “Jeep” Maupin have passed on, tradition is being carried on by the fourth generation of the Maupin family. Today, Melody Maupin Craighead is working on staff, continuing the tradition that the Maupin family has dedicated their lives to for over eighty years.
