Obituary for Brian Owen

Brian Owen, 43, of Florida, formerly of Mokane, was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on April 2, 1974, the son of William “Bill” Owen and the late Melba (Whanger) Owen.

Brian moved to Florida after graduating from South Callaway High School. While there, he owned two furniture stores. Brian enjoyed antiques, refinishing furniture, cooking, and laying on the beach. A kind hearted soul, Brian loved helping others. Even though Florida was his home, Brian often returned to his hometown because he loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Those remaining to mourn his passing include his father, Bill Owen, and step-mother, Carol Owen of Fulton; sister, Rhonda Risch of Fulton; nephews, Dylan Atterberry, Darrell and Dalton Risch; niece, Ashley Owen; great-nephew, Bryson Furlong; aunt, Leta Mae Owen; and his dog and faithful companion, Ray.

Along with his mother, Brian was preceded in death by brother, Darrell Wayne Owen; sister, Brenda Owen; and uncle, Richard Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Mindy Kiepe Officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Steedman Cemetery.
