Obituary for Brian Matthew Lynch

Brian Matthew Lynch, 49, of Barnes, Kansas, formerly of Auxvasse, died on Monday, September 17, 2018, at his home.

Brian was born to John and Nancy (Stephens) Lynch on December 16, 1968 in Whidbey Island, Washington. He grew up in Auxvasse, Missouri and graduated from North Callaway High School in 1987. He attended Missouri University and Devry Technical College.

On October 19, 2002, Brian married Maria Weeks in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brian worked in construction and in 2014, moved to Barnes, Kansas and worked in construction with his brother, Stephen. In his spare time, Brian liked to cook and have BBQ’s with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, golfing, fishing, mushroom hunting and just being outdoors. But his biggest joy was found in helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Maria; daughter, Samantha Nelson, Lawrence, Ks.; father, John Lynch, Auxvasse, MO; brother, Stephen Lynch, Waterville, Ks.; sister, Stephanie (John) Leverett, Auxvasse, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Nancy; and son, Joshua Lynch.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 21, at Ward Funeral Home in Greenleaf, Kansas. On Sunday, September 23, a visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Auxvasse, . A graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2018 at Liberty Cemetery in Auxvasse.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, Kansas 66968.
