Obituary for Violet Genevieve Brantley

Violet Genevieve Brantley, of Fulton, Missouri, formerly of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the age of 95.

She was born on October 8, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Telesfore O. and Marie A. DeCormier.

She was the wife of the late B. Scott Brantley. They were united in marriage on April 12, 1947.

Violet was a homemaker and later worked with her husband at Atlas Printing Company in St. Louis. She was a member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, watching hockey, and visiting with family.

Violet is survived by her daughters, Toni Piel (Mike) of Mineola, Sue Bethmann of Fulton; four grandchildren, Scott Brantley (Erin) of Ballwin, Jennifer Bethmann of Fulton, Heather Brantley Ottmar (Mike) of Seattle, Wa., and Jonathan Bethmann (Haley) of Millersburg; six great-grandchildren, Alexis and Valerie Sublett of Fulton, Dylan Brantley of Ballwin, Genevieve Ottmar of Seattle, Wa., Nevaeh and Malia Bethmann of Millersburg; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Brantley Murphy of Ellisville; sister-in-law, Shirleen DeCormier of Ballwin; two nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Scott C. Brantley; sister, Ardele DeCormier; brother, Jack DeCormier; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brantley.

Graveside services will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Dementia Society of America, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
