Obituary for Betty Colleen Brown

Betty Colleen Brown, 83, of Fulton passed away on January 6, 2018 at University of Missouri Hospital.

She was born in Albany, Missouri on July 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Claude A. Howell and the late Opal (Younger) Howell.

Colleen was married to Earl Eugene Brown who preceded her in death in 1986.

Colleen was a member of Richland Baptist Church. She enjoyed music, making crafts, and quilting. She received great pleasure in simply spending time with her family and church family, and serving her local community. While her sons were in school, she enjoyed watching and supporting them in their sports and school activities.

She will be missed by her sons, Vincent Matthew Brown of Lawson, Mo., Lewis Daniel Brown of Leesburg, Va., and Claude David Brown of Leesburg, Va.; sister, Dixie R. Howell Thornton (Tommy) of Maysville, Mo.; grandchildren, Barbara Brown, David Tracy Brown (Jenny), Forrest Brown, and Harmony Souders (Travis); and three great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Colleen was preceded in death by brother, Vyron A. Howelll; and sister, Vyrl Ann Howell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Richland Baptist Church with Pastor Nick Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Maysville, Mo. at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018.
