Obituary for Barbra Jean Klinginsmith

Barbra Jean Klinginsmith, 88, of Fulton passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

She was born on June 30, 1929 in Farmersville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Ernest Clifford Carr and the late Beatrice (Marrs) Carr.

Barbra was married to Charles M. Klinginsmith, Jr. on September 25, 1946. He preceded her in death.

Barbra had an unending love until her last day for her husband Charley. She loved being a mother devoted to raising her three boys and took personal pride in their families as they grew. Through the years, she has delighted in sharing the joys of her grandchildren and most recently her great-grandchildren. Traveling was a lifelong passion. A trip to Florida in the winter was always looked forward to with great anticipation in their 5th Wheel trailer. She was ready to go on any trip, adventure, an errand, or breakfast with a friend. Barbra enjoyed life to its fullest. She knew the true meaning of kindness, joy, and understanding. She saw the best in everyone and was always planning for the future. She was truly grateful for every day, her friends, family, and those who were there for her in support.

Those remaining to mourn her passing include sons, Charles E. Klinginsmith (Sally) of Festus, Jerry C. Klinginsmith (Pix) of Eugene, and Chris A. Klinginsmith (Kathy) of Sedalia; brother, Guy J. Carr (Peggy) of Trenton; sister-in-law, Bonnie Craig of Trenton; grandchildren, Jeff Klinginsmith (Ashley), Kacy Cresswell (Matt), Toni Edinger (Jake), and Jesse Klinginsmith (Amanda); step-grandchildren, Stacy Clifton (Scott), and Jeff Kimberlin (Brenda); and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Harvey Carr, Junior Carr, and Eugene Carr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February, 21, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Mindy Kiepe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations are suggested to First Christian Church, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
