Obituary for Emil Kenneth Warner

Emil Kenneth Warner, 69, of Mokane was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Kenny was born in Jefferson City on November 16, 1948, the son of the late Emil Nick Warner and the late Alma Mary (Wendring) Warner.

On August 2, 1969, Kenny married Mona (Bramon) Warner, his high school sweetheart. She survives his passing.

During his high school years, Kenny worked for the Katy Railroad each summer. He enjoyed farming, playing cards every Friday evening, water skiing, snow sledding, ping pong, basketball, bowling, and ice hockey. He was an avid baseball player and fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals. Kenny’s passion was his family and spending time outdoors, both of which he dearly loved. As an active father, he coached both baseball and softball for all his children’s teams. Kenny was a member of the Catholic faith.

Mr. Warner began his teaching career at Fatima High School in 1971. In 1976, he joined the staff at South Callaway High School and retired in 2008. During his 34 year career, Mr. Warner not only taught math, but touched the lives of countless students. Mr. Warner started Math Relays at both Fatima and South Callaway. He continued to sponsor the Math Relay Team until his retirement. Mr. Warner truly loved teaching math which was evident in his willingness to go above and beyond in order to help every student reach their full potential.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years; son Ryan Warner (Candace) of Chesterfield; daughters, Missy Bonderer of Ashland, and Tracy Truong (Kim) of Hawthorn Woods, IL; grandchildren, Matt Bonderer, Chris Bonderer, Sam Bonderer, Aidan Truong, Landon Truong and Maylee Truong; Aunt, Mae Wendring of Mokane; sister-in-law, Sharon Warner of Fulton; and numerous cousins.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Warner.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Father I. C. Medina officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Private graveside services will be held at later date.
