Obituary for Evelyn Mae Flynn

Evelyn M. Flynn, 93, of Fulton passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at SSM Audrain.

She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on January 21, 1925 to the late Raymond J. Flynn and the late Hazel (Walsh) Flynn Paige.

Evelyn graduated from Bassick High School in 1941, Methodist School of Nursing in 1945, and attended the University of Bridgeport in later years. She retired after thirty years of service to the Allison Division of the now defunct American Chain and Cable Company. She was active in 4-H and Junior Achievement for many years. Evelyn was a Sunday School Teacher, Vestryman, and short-term treasurer at the Parish of Church Christ in Easton, Pennsylvania. For a short time, she represented the town of Easton on the Draft Board 21A, until the Selective Service System was put on hold. After moving to Fulton, Evelyn spent twenty years as a volunteer at Fulton State Hospital, and offering whatever assistance she could to her friends and neighbors. She was a generous, loving, and caring sister, aunt, great-aunt, friend, and neighbor.

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Francis Flynn and his wife Barbara of St. Louis and their descendants.

Evelyn’s wishes were for her remains to be returned to Connecticut where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.

Memorial donations are suggested to Fulton State Hospital Foundation, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton MO 65251.

Condolences may be left for the family on this site.
