Obituary for Harold Thomas Carter

Harold Thomas “Tommy” Carter, 70, of Williamsburg passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Clinton, Kentucky on April 3, 1948, the son of the late James Earl Carter and the late Hazel Louise Carter.

On December 26, 1969, Tommy was united in marriage to Vicky Kay (Humphreys) Carter. She survives his passing.

Tommy served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from FRDC after 24 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, singing, playing music and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 48 years Vicky; daughters, Lisa Carter Lewis (Lisle), Tamatha Kay Carter (Jake Gordy), Melodi Rae Carter (Lacey); brothers, Edwin Earl Carter (Mina) and John Milton Carter (Susan); sisters, Barbara Louise Hopper and Vivian Joan Cruce (Dickie); grandchildren, Jacy Rayne Johnmeyer, Logan Thomas Johnmeyer, Rowan LeAnn Carter, Morgan Gordy, Ryland Gordy; brothers of the heart, Jody Hook, Harold Dickens, Joe I. Hazlett, Rick Ballard Sr.; son in law, Aaron Johnmeyer (Christine Koehler) and several nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Garland Carter, James Arland Carter, Bobby Cooper Carter, Joe Neal Carter; sisters Mary Virginia Peery and Rebecca Jane Dublin.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Maupin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Mike Haldeman officiating.
