Obituary for Wilma "June" Selby

Wilma “June” Selby, 92, of Fulton passed away at Riverview Nursing Center on Monday, April 23, 2018.

She was born in Clinton, Missouri on June 7, 1925, the daughter of the late Phillip Hezekiah Watson and the late Minnie Ellen (Prouse) Watson.

In 1940, June was united in marriage to Cyrus Watson Selby who preceded her in death in 1985.

Until her retirement, June was employed by Callaway Hospital where she worked as a surgical tech. She was a member of First Christian Church. June loved to quilt, cook, bake, clean and tend to her home. She was a nurturer at heart and took it upon herself to care for others. In her younger years, June always fixed Sunday dinner, no one ever left her home hungry! She was affectionately known by many as Mama June.

Her loss will be deeply felt by her family including daughter, Sandra Kay Dutton of Fulton; sister, Judy Carol Rippeto of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Angela Dawn Blasé of Webster Groves, William Dean “Jack” Dutton of Columbia, and Christian Chad Selby Dutton of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Jordan Vincent Kroell, and Cullen Christian Dutton; and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Mindy Kiepe officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations are suggested to Sam and Daisy Grabb Animal Shelter, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
